Arguing is a healthy way of resolving conflict, and can also improve intimacy and understanding in a relationship. It allows partners to communicate their needs, express feelings, stops resentment , and helps to clear differences. By holding on to negative emotions and then venting and shouting derogatory insults through frustration will only infuse the situation. As does holding on silently to feelings when a partner has done or said something has that offended of hurt will fester.
It is however beneficial if arguing is done in a constructive manner. Using facts and sharing thoughts, and feelings can help partners get a deeper understanding of aspects of their partner that they may have been previously unaware of. Argue with kindness, listen with empathy, and a deeper connection and appreciation of each other can be discovered.
